I actually started with a model railway. I had 30 locomotives and 20 complete trains. But then I realised that it is relatively difficult to build a model layout that is as close to reality as
possible. The more I thought about it, the more I lost the desire to go big, bigger and bigger, because I simply didn't have the space.
While I was surfing the web, I came across model trams. This opened up a completely different perspective for me. Fundamentally different, the life of the model tramway takes place in urban and
suburban areas. I spent hours watching videos of model trams on YouTube. I received a lot of input on how to design something like this. But these layouts also take up a lot of space and are
therefore out of the question for me.
But what I haven't found so far is a model tramway the size of a dining table. Something that is so flexible and light that you can put it on the wall when it is not needed. A tramway that can be
pulled into the centre of the room when needed, to be admired from all four sides.
This project was then not completed, it was a bit too little for me. I sold the H0 trams and rails in 2014. I am making a new start in N scale with the theme of trams in the United States.
Here is a link to the forum where I report in detail about the construction of the tramway in Los Angeles.
